Hoping you're enjoying your break, just wanted to remind you of two things:

Then click flashcards or play hangman, you can even print out a vocabulary sheet with english and Spanish on it, in case you missed the work.

2011-2012 Spanish!

Another school year is upon us! Hope the website can answer some of your questions and that anything you're still wondering about you can ask during class or email me (smithb@lakewoodps.org)

For Spanish I:
You'll need
-a 3 ring binder or folder with prongs used EXCLUSIVELY for Spanish to keep all of your notes and papers.  Personally, I like these folders: 5 star stay put folder because you can used them for all of your years of Spanish and they are plastic and will hold up to quite a beating, they are only $2 at meijer. .  But feel free to go with a binder or paper folder w/ prongs, those will be totally fine.
-a set of head phones or ear buds (unless you don't mind sharing ear wax, I will have head phones that are good for public use)
-Paper, Pencil, Pen

**If you want to help out, we could always use wipes to clean the headphones, tissue, and random props we can use in our skits and conversations (old clothes, hats, toys, etc. . . )

For Spanish II:
-Bring all of your old papers, unless you gave them to me to keep.  They will really help if you still have them!

-Folder w/ prongs (see above for more detail)
-headphones/ear buds (unless you don't mind sharing ear wax, I will have head phones that are good for public use)
-paper, pencil, pen

**If you want to help out, we could always use wipes to clean the headphones, tissue, and random props we can use in our skits and conversations (old clothes, hats, toys, etc. . . )

Special note to Spanish II:  There is a chance that if you work hard enough you could pass the placement test and get out of Spanish I at the HS for next year (if you're in 7th grade).  I will be setting up tutoring sessions closer to the end of the school year to review for the test, stay tuned for further information.  We will talk in class.

A Big Thanks!

Thank you so much to the parents who helped out with the Chicago trip!  It was so much fun and it was so nice to see you all.  It is so evident to me how much you care!

Again, thank you for your help with the fiestas, oral exam practice, and much much more!  I am so thankful to have your students and to have been able to watch them grow and mature.

If you or your son or daughter are interested in one-on-one/group tutoring over the summer in the Spanish language, shoot me an email (smithb@lakewoodps.org) and we may be able to work something out!

¡Hasta el próximo año!

Assignment.

Now that you're all finished with your final exam (GIANT EXHAIL).  I would like for you to write one final assignment.  Please answer the following?

¿Qué haces los fines de semana? >what do you do on the weekends?

-----Answer carefully conjugating an activity of your choosing in the YO form.  For example-
Yo bailo a la música de Shakira.

Post by hitting the comment button, writing your sentence, and then finishing with your name and grade.

Will miss you guys, but we still have next year (for 6th and 7th at least).

EXTRA CREDIT

Hola Amigos~

It's been one week of Spanish so far. . . What have you learned?  Write me an inquiry (or question) in Spanish and then how you would respond to that, plus your favorite thing about Spanish class for 3 points extra credit added to your comic strip or 3 punches!

To post:
Look at the gray bar just below, in bright blue there should be "comment" click on that.  Type in your response, type your name in that same box, in the pull down you can have it say anonymous (you've written your name in the post, so that's fine).  Then click POST COMMENT.  I will get a notification, if your message is school appropriate, I will approve it, and you will then see it appear.
